Who Is He? No Words!

August 28, 2025

John closes his gospel with a statement that resonates through the ages: “Jesus did many other
things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world
would not have room for the books that would be written” (John 21:25). This is a bold reminder
of Jesus’s boundless greatness and awe. He surpasses every phenomenal story we find in the
Bible!

Imagine if every gospel story were turned into a movie, we’d have endless sequels that would
keep screaming “aah” and “ooh” as we perched on the edge of our seats, breathless. And still,
those films wouldn’t even scratch the surface of all He accomplished or what His followers
witnessed. And let’s not forget about the New Testament letters that testify of Him!

Is “awesome” too small a word to describe Jesus? Yes, but we have no other words! John starts
his gospel by revealing that Jesus was there from the very beginning, and through Him,
everything was created. How do you even begin to describe someone like that? No words!

Jesus is beyond our comprehension, greater than anything we could ever face. He knows
everything and chooses to walk with us through all of life’s challenges. Reflecting on who Jesus
is, we feel like David, who marveled at the grandeur of creation and asked, “What is man that
You are mindful of him?” (Psalm 8:3-4).
Both David and John, along with anyone who meditates on Jesus, quickly find the limits of
human understanding. Yet, as David observed, Jesus cares for us deeply and calls us His
crowning creation.

So what can we do? By faith, embrace these things. Accept that Jesus’ love is beyond human
understanding. Remember His constant presence with us in every situation (there is nothing too
hard for Him and nothing—good or bad—shocks Him). Trust in His boundless power over
everything and His care for us. Reflect on His guidance and companionship in our daily lives.
All we can say is “Wow” and “Thank you, Jesus!”

Even if the earth could not contain all the stories of His greatness, the most amazing part is that
He’s not done walking with us yet. So, face each day with the assurance that the Mighty One is
by your side. Walk boldly with strength and confidence! Jesus has chosen us!

God bless you!
