Can You Hear It…God’s Voice? 4-11-2025
As Jesus entered the city on a donkey, crowds gathered, laying their clothes and palm branches on the road. They shouted, “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!” Their excitement was intense, and they called Him “the prophet from Nazareth of Galilee” (Matthew 21:9, 11). While God was clearly “talking” through this event, the people misunderstood God’s message. He was more than a prophet, and God always speaks to us if we take the time to listen.
In today’s world, digital assistants like Alexa and even our phones have become billion-dollar industries, yet many of us know their voices better than we know God’s. Despite this, God continues to speak to us. While we hear Alexa and our GPS daily, God’s voice is often subtle and requires faith to perceive it. This leads many believers to wonder, “How do I hear God’s voice?”
Throughout history, God has communicated in various ways: to King Saul through music, to Solomon in dreams and nature, to Elijah in a whisper, and to Paul through visions. Today, Hebrews 1:1 reminds us that, “In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe.” God speaks through His Son and that primarily through the Bible. Studying Scripture sharpens our spiritual awareness and helps us discern God’s will. Anything that contradicts the Bible should be dismissed.
God speaks to us about what He deems important, not necessarily what we want to hear. Although the means of communication are modernized, the message remains the same. We must train ourselves to recognize God’s voice amidst the noise of our electronic world—and His voice will always align with the Bible.
Right now, God may be speaking to you through this blog. Are you listening? Let’s shift our focus from electronic voices to the most crucial voice—God’s! As we celebrate Palm Sunday, let’s remember who He truly is. Hear Him! Happy Palm Sunday! Hosanna!
God bless you!
