Jesus Prayed and is Praying for You, 1-30-2021

If you bid on a home and the realtor and seller want you to have it, you’re likely to receive it despite competing offers. You have favor. The good news is that you are in a privileged position because Jesus, the Heavenly Father, and the Holy Spirit know you and are committed to helping you overcome every challenge. Jesus is praying for you.

Before His arrest and crucifixion, Jesus held a private prayer service for you. You were on His mind throughout His suffering; you are the reason He endured shame, accusations, and death. You have favor because He prayed and continues to pray for you.

Jesus prayed, “My prayer is not for them alone [His original disciples]. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message…I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one…I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known so that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them” (John 17:20, 22, 26).

Long before you were born, Jesus prayed for your protection, direction, and provision. You were born with a divine call and favor—it’s already within you. Jesus knew and loved you even before your parents met.

When Jesus spoke words like “be healed” or “live,” those words became immediate reality. His words over you are also an instant reality. However, a common blockage exists: many Christians believe in the Gospel generally, but not in its constant work in their lives. For example, I once nearly thew away a precious stone, mistaking it for a mere trinket, when in fact it was a rare gem. Similarly, some believers may view their divine inheritance as something pretty but without value in their lives. Jesus’ prayers for you are neither useless nor powerless. Recognize the treasure spoken over you and understand the valuable person you are. You have favor because Jesus prayed and is praying for you.

You may encounter experiences, people, and systems that try to convince you that you are insignificant, but that is a lie. Jesus prayed for you, and nothing is too hard for God to accomplish in your life according to His purpose and will. His purpose for you exceeds your wildest imagination. He prayed for you in the garden before His crucifixion and continues to intercede for you now. “Who is he who condemns you? It is Christ who died and is risen, who is at the right hand of God and makes intercession for you…For I am convinced that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate you from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:34, 37-39).

Every time you breathe, remember: You have favor right now because Jesus prayed and is praying for you!

God bless you!
